History: Hercules is the long lost son of Zeus and Hera, turned mortal by his Uncle Hades in order for the later to take over Olympus due to a Prophacy that the Fates told Hades about. But even though Hercules was no longer a god he was supernaturaly strong, which made growing up very difficult. Because along with his great strength Hercules was also very very clumsy and would oftern times deystroy an entire city by accidently bumping a pillar. However when Herc found out that he was Zeus son he also found out that he could be granted godhood if he became a hero worthy of it.
For years he trained with Philoctetes (Phil) in both controling his strength better and in becoming a hero. On his first mission he rescued Megera from an angry river guardian and fell for her at first sight.
Once in Thebes Hercules quickly rose from a zero to a hero, defeating whatever monsters Hades threw at him and earning respect, fame, and money wherever he went. But despite all this he still remained the kind hearted farm boy he was at the very beginning and never lost sight of his goal of becoming a 'true hero' and going back home.
As Hercules's fame grew so did Hades desperation and unbeknownst to Hercules Megera was working for Hades as way of paying off a bagin to the Lord of the Dead. Hades used Megera as bate for the demi-god, Hades promised that no harm would come to Meg, and in return Hercules would give up his strength. After doing so Hades released the Titans and set out to takeover Mount Olympus, and had the Cyclops deystroy Thebs and to make sure that Hercules wouldn't bother him again.
Although Hercules lacked strength he still attempted to beat down the Cyclops, Megera seeing that Hercules might be killed sacrificed herself returning Hercules strength to him.
Hercules chased the Titians back into their prison but was to late to save Megeara, he traveled down to the underworld to get Megera's soul back from the River of the Dead, sacrificing his own life so that she may live.
In doing so he proved himself a "true hero" and gained godhood, but when he learned that in gaining godhood he would lose Megera he gladly gave it up to be with her.
A year past and Hercules and Megera were married, the moved back to his old home in the country and were all set to have a long and happy life together. That is until one day when Hercules left town for a few days to battle a sea serpent. While he was battling the sea serpent he was sucked into a whirl-pool and when he came too he was on a beach in the middle of a storm that bordered on becoming a hurricane. He soon discovered that not only did he no longer have any super strength but he also was no longer demi-god nor called Hercules.
Rather his name was Henry, and he was a lifeguard. And there was almost no chance of him going back to the life he once had.
Sample Post:
Hercules, otherwise known as Henry, walked down the beach towards the lifeguard station. He wasn't entirely sure what this job was about, but knew that it involved helping people, and that was good enough for him.
As he looked out over the waves he wondered how all this came to be, was he being punished for something he could not remember doing? Was this another one of Hades tricks? Or was it also possible that maybe...just maybe, that life was just vivid dreams or maybe even some type of psychological break?
Henry shook his head, he shouldn't be thinking about that right now he needed to focus more on his job, and if he got distracted even for a second...it could cost someone's life.
Other Notes: I think it would be intresting to see Hercules adapt to life without superstrength, and find his way back to Meg eventually.
